Patrick Neate & Gemma Weekes


Poet, musician and singer Gemma Weekes has performed all over the UK and has collaborated with established names including the Black Eyed Peas, amongst others. An acclaimed writer, her debut novel, 'Love Me' received rave reviews in the Guardian ('a delight'), the Telegraph ('hits you where you feel it most') and the Independent ('a wonderfully assured debut'). She has also created theatrical pieces for the Birmingham Rep, Stratford East Theatre, and internationally at the New Jersey Performing Arts Centre. Gemma lives in London and is working on her second novel.

The storyteller and literary nightclub owner has been published in most major UK newspapers and magazines and his work widely anthologised and broadcast on radio and television. His first non-fiction book, an analysis of hip-hop (Where You're At: Notes from the Frontline of a Hip-Hop Planet) won the 2004 National Book Critics' Circle Award (USA).
